The 'new new new' old yellow house we love

Blogging resumes.  Between touring, moving and teaching bike camps, this spring/summer has left little idle time for reflecting.  In ways, I have adored living without the constant distractions of an internet connection, but community organization in this day and age seems to require social media.  I succumb.

The Tour

After many iterations we have finally decided on the tour route.   Today we ordered the maps for the Sedro-Woolley, WA, to Elma, WA section of the Washington Parks ACA route.  From Mark’s brother’s townhouse near North Bend, WA, we will travel by bike to Olympia National Park to tour the island section of the Washington Parks sometime in mid-April.  After our tour of the forest, we will travel south via the Pacific Coast, or preferably the ACA’s new Sierra Cascades route.  We hope to arrive in the Eugene area in early June, or earlier, if the kids allow for longer mileage days.

Bop and Tappas’ for dinner.  This was my first attempt at cookie decorating.  Results were ugly, but edible.

My mom made our favorite Polish dish, pierogi.  Although she cooked all afternoon, the 120 or so pierogi were barely enough to feed this hungry crew.  Oh, were they delicious.

Greener Pastures

I am swooning over the possibility of moving our family to Ireland.  The quaint, historic villages and cycle-friendly bucolic wonderlands are tantalizing my imagination.  In daydreams, I am carried off to greener pastures where my girls are donning rubber boots and chasing chickens into an ancient stone barn.  Here is one of the images fueling my pipe dream.
